My journey into my Family Tree began back in Feb. 2003 upon receipt of an old Family Pic which contained a few folks whom I thought I recognized. Out of the 22 people in the pic, I recognized 2 of the people as my Grandfather and Aunt. I have since been able to identify all the folks in the picture, including one of the babies as being my Father.
Based on the above mentioned picture and the fact that my son is currently and most likely going to be the youngest living male to carry on the "SCHMID" surname, I have been inspired to research the various branches of my Family Tree.
Please note, I have tried to show everything as accurately as I possibly could given the information which I have gathered. I have talked with numerous people, many who are related but whom I had never previously met. I feel confident in saying that the information which I have gathered is for the most part, believed to be correct. Many of the items have been documented several times and by numerous sources.
As a result of this, I have devoted as many resources as were available to me, time permitting and sometimes using over and above my resources. My family has allowed me and/ or accepted my continued research which has amounted to many, many hours and resources which was used in place of them. I have learned that many in our past are much richer than we could ever imagine- not in wealth but in the lives which they lived.
Additionally, to those who have given so much of their time to provide me with what they could share- "THANK YOU", without your input this would not of been possible.
